This has been a hot topic around the Liles house recently amongst our friends and family. Not because being a Realtor is bad but because when Jamie and I "retired" as most like to say form the real estate business (me from the Mortgage Bank and she from Building homes) to run our AdvoCare business most assumed it was a forever decision.
To fully understand why now we have to take a look back at the season of our lives pre-AdvoCare. Going back to my time at Lending Street I averaged 60-70 hours a week easily to provide the customer service we desired and to close our volume of loans on time. It was a great season professionally but the hours caused me to miss many things in Champ's, my now 7 1/2 (he will remind you of the 1/2) year olds life as I was always at the office or on my phone. So in 2011 when Jamie and I discovered the power of the AdvoCare opportunity and began to build a business we realized it could give us the power to have options. Jamie was building houses with Texas Premier Homes and though she loved her job we found out the Liles family was going from a family of 3 to a family of 4! We realized real quick that God was calling us to close the season of mortgages and home building to focus on our business and our calling as parents.
Answering that call has made for some of the best and most fun years of my life. We spent a year living in the DFW area doing life with some of our dearest friends and taking in Lego Land, the aquarium, zoos, Cowboy Stadium, the Ballpark in Arlington and everything else the BIG city has to offer. Then we spent a year in South Carolina enjoying the beach and the east coast before moving back home.
Now back home we enter into a new season as Ryder Grace has started pre-school and Champ is rocking along in school. For Jamie and I it was time to sit down and visit about the best ways for us to give back to our community. Real estate is where our hearts are at yet we wanted the time flexibility that neither the mortgage business nor building homes could provide. Becoming a Realtor was the best way to maintain our flexibility yet utilize our vast experience in the real estate market. The only question that was left was finding a broker that was like minded and shared similar values in balancing family and business which made Mitchell Realty and working with Wade and Emmy a no brainer.
So here we are today, on an old but new adventure for the Liles family. Excited to help our family, friends and our community in what is one of the largest financial decisions you will make, buying or selling your home!
